Story behind the patch - the whole truth. This was the patch of the 44th Missile Maintenance Squadron, Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. The patch says "MMS" but that was a mistake in submission. It should have been "MIMS". The patches were used anyway. There are two patches. The first is almost new, never worn (considering it is 55 years old); the second is a little rough, directly off a set of 1960s fatigues. First come gets the new one.
